Genuine Starbucks

Genuine Starbucks

Give your customers more in value than what they’ve paid for. That’s the “certain way” of attracting increased sales.

Lexus, Nordstroms, Starbucks, The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company – all offer award winning customer service as an added value to their very hefty price tags. The consumer is more than willing to pay these higher prices given that extra value and the luxury and elegance that comes along with quality, high-level customer service and genuine care. No one has to sell them! The extra value sells it! Every company could apply this technique to increase their profits just by increasing their level of service and giving back more in value than what they’ve paid for. The customer will come back for more and bring his friends too!

Increasing your level of customer service might mean you get your product delivered a little early and with a free and unexpected gift. It might be something as simple and as cost-effective as a brochure filled with information relating to the service or a link to an e-book on effective ways to use, maintain, and enjoy the purchase!

But don’t stop there! Call the customer personally and see how they like their new product or how that new service is working out for them. Don’t just send out an email as the follow up to a sale. Emails have their place in business but they’re rather impersonal and one sided and the customer will NOT feel very special at all! He probably gets hundreds of emails a week. Besides, you’ll gain some valuable information by discussing the customer experience and feedback which should help you to determine how to improve on what you’ve got so far and increase the value even more!

Even if your top fifty customers haven’t made a purchase recently, call them anyway. Call them once a week or once a month, just to check in and see if there’s anything you can do for your “VIP” clientele! Actually address them as your “VIP customer” or “best client” when you talk to them and they’ll feel important! Be genuinely grateful for their business and respectful of their time and they’ll almost always be happy to hear from you! Call ALL your clients on a regular basis! Do these activities in the certain way and you will see an increase in your bottom line.

Another thing that’s often neglected and typically not acted upon in this certain way, is the care of your company’s sales and marketing representatives. You can’t have happy customers without happy, satisfied staff members so treat them fairly! If the company treats their staff well, the staff will treat the customers well! Life is reciprocal whether you believe it or not. You can keep your business flowing smoothly with the positive influences of having and upholding company and personal ethics and having high principles – doing things in the certain way and always giving a little more.

Emphasize marketing strategies and have your sales team focus on creating more value to your offerings instead of focusing on increasing the numbers on a board or reaching a quota. These elements should not be ignored but their value is not nearly as significant as doing things in a certain way when attempting to attract more sales. Start planning what you’ll do to celebrate when your company hits that benchmark in sales. Believe in it and plan for that celebration to happen! Then, give specific directives for action. Minimize the importance you place on keeping track of daily sales numbers to keep staff motivated. Maybe it would be more appropriate to release sales statistics once a week to keep help keep them on track Pay them well, treat them fairly and provide a little more value to your staff than you take from them in work. Added value can be applied to all areas of your business and it will automatically generate those higher numbers.

When you focus on increasing value for your customers and your staff, you’re doing business creatively and not competitively! Your staff will feel it, you’re customers will feel it and your sales will soar!
